Target goes high end with designers La Ligne, Sergio Hudson and Kika Vargas: Check out the looks for fall


STATEN ISLAND, NY – Looking for a funky red jumpsuit for this holiday season? How about chunky sunglasses and a herringbone shirt? Starting October 9th, you can purchase these designer items—and more—at your next Target run.

“One of the reasons guests love shopping at Target is our focus on style — and our ability to offer that style at incredibly affordable prices,” noted Jill Sando, Target’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, who recently celebrated the reopening of the Store announced the Fall Designer Collection – which will feature more than 100 high-end clothing and accessories items on the major retailer’s shelves.

“Our latest collaboration is a celebration of style, and we know our guests will love this collection of on-trend pieces that reflect each designer’s different, diverse take on fashion,” continued Sando.

Featuring modern cold-weather dressing and layering essentials by Kika Vargas, La Ligne and Sergio Hudson – three ready-to-wear designers whose clothes are sold at Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale’s – the collection includes pieces in Size XXS to 4X and prices range from $8 to $70 with most items under $40.

Each participating designer has a solid background in the fashion industry and a past of dressing A-list celebrities. Here’s a look at who they are:

Sergio Hudson A 2022 Harlem’s Fashion Show Designer of the Year award winner, Hudson launched his eponymous brand in 2014 after winning Bravo’s Styled to Rock contest and has since dressed several A-list celebrities. Known for his impeccable tailoring, jewel tones and combining flattering silhouettes with bold patterns, his collections showcase the power and strength of femininity.

“I love styling all women and getting inspiration from many different eras,” said Hudson Target. “My approach is modern yet rooted in timeless trends, and working with Target has allowed me to really unleash my creativity. I started this collection with patterns like houndstooth – a pattern popular in the 80’s and 90’s – and ended it with several solid color looks that offer endless chic style options for women this fall.”

La Ligne

Based on the universal appeal of the strip, the La Ligne brand was founded in 2016 by two Vogue editors, Valerie Macaulay and Meredith Melling, along with former investment banker and fashion executive Molly Howard. La Ligne creates timeless pieces that work seamlessly day and night.

“We took the stripe and placed it on comfy yet elevated everyday pieces like sweaters, hats and coats,” Macaulay said in a press release about the collaboration.

La Ligne for Target offers versatile style basics such as sweaters, trousers and dresses.

Kika Vargas

Kika Vargas, a Colombian designer and LVMH 2021 finalist, relaunched her eponymous brand in 2018. Striking a balance between form and flow, her ready-to-wear pieces mix her hand-drawn prints with eccentric proportions to convey a modern romanticism.

“Growing up around art and architecture really shaped me as a designer and continues to influence all of my hand-drawn prints and textured silhouettes to this day,” she said in a statement. “When it came to designing my collection for Target, I wanted to incorporate the brand’s core styles and prints that represent the vibrancy of my Colombian heritage, while keeping function and femininity in mind.”

Kika Vargas for Target offers vibrant and feminine layering pieces including dresses, tops, skirts and bottoms that are built on structure, volume and everyday practicality – to make dressing feel like an art.
