Asian-American singer-songwriter and rapper star2 uses his sizzling singles to win hearts! To get it back to basics, Star2 is a true survivor. Born in a refugee camp in Thailand, Star knows all about hard work and dedication. His family walked over 500 miles through the jungle to escape Burmese soldiers. The ones who attacked and burned down their village when he was just a kid. Star2 (and his family) have faced tremendous adversity and racist opposition for generations as the Karens (Kuh-ren), a minority that the Myanmar government is trying to annihilate.
Sadly growing up without his parents by his side, his life quickly changed for the better when his grandmother was chosen in a lottery to emigrate to the United States. Star2 and his grandmother move to San Diego to start a new life. Granted, it wasn’t easy. Growing up in the city, his family struggled financially as he shared a home with a drug-addicted uncle.
As a result, he was overwhelmed and overexcited as he adjusted to life in a new world of cars, electricity, and paved roads. However, Star2 found solace in music as a teenager. Developing into a multi-faceted musician, he began rapping, singing, writing his own music and performing. As he perfected his craft, Star2 developed his own style of music. A unique style with compelling hooks, rich harmonies and distinctly progressive R&B soundscapes. Alongside a variety of influences including Justin Bieber, Tyga and Chris Brown among others.
Star2 introduces New Me
The aspiring emcee and soulful singer shows he’s a changed man by showing his struggles turned to triumph. For his latest release, he returns with a “new me” with Soulja Boy and Luh Kel. The fresh new feature serves as audio dedicated to his new lifestyle and the man he is becoming. In fact, the aspiring rhymer reveals the accompanying visuals that really bring the audio to life.
For the official music video, fans flock to Star2 and throw a pool party with a backyard full of frolicking, thong-wearing beauties in a swanky multi-million dollar mansion. The fired up females dance across the screen while spraying each other with whipped cream. They can also be seen splashing Luh Kel and Star2 in a hot tub full of hundred dollar bills before the scene switches to them twerking next to Big Draco in his orange Lambo. Do not believe me? With his mic slung around the industry’s neck, Star2 is collaborating with $tupid Young on his forthcoming six-track EP. It is scheduled for release anytime between February and March 2023. The highly anticipated project will also feature guest appearances from Lil Poppa and MB Nel on two trending tracks. Since 2020, the prolific songwriter has collaborated with superstar producer Chico Bennett (Prince, Madonna, Lady Gaga, The Killers, Britney Spears) on a series of cross-genre singles that have captivated audiences worldwide.
