Some might long for hot summer days or the quiet snowfall of winter, but I don’t. I dream of clean air that calls for a trench coat, fall leaves that beg to be crunched by slouchy boots, and cozy dinners that require me to bring only my best sweater. For shopping alone, fall is without a doubt my favorite season, and my shopbop fall sale picks mean this year is going to be my best dressed season yet. The items in my shopping cart are versatile – flowers fly just as well as plaids. Allow for experimentation – each outfit has at least three layering options. Most importantly, it’s a chance to freshen up my wardrobe – I’m cleaning out my closet, splurging on some new goodies and playing with my favorite fall trends.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Shopbop Sale and haven’t already spent a few hours of the workday (oops) scrolling through the thousands of sale options, let me bring you up to speed. From now until September 22nd you can use the code: STYLE to get big discounts on Shopbop’s website. I’m talking designer boots, handbags, dresses, jeans – you name it, it’s on sale. You can get 15 percent off orders of $200 or up to 25 percent off orders of $800 or more.
I always like to use Sales to cover the bases for basics. This season, I’ve got my eye on wide-leg jeans from Good American and a faux shearling bomber jacket. Once I’ve covered the basics, I’ll scroll through the page a second time just in case something spectacular catches my eye. I’ve listed my 10 favorite pieces from the range below to give you a head start. Have fun shoppingGood American good skate jeans
Good American always gets it right when it comes to comfortable, flattering denim. These wide leg jeans will complement any fall jumper in your closet and come in sizes 00-24.
Cody turtleneck top
One of the best parts of fall fashion is the ability to layer everything. You need a fun, versatile layering piece to do that, and this thin turtleneck top is just the ticket. Wear it under a vest, blazer, sweater or corset and lower the CPW (cost per wear).
Bonded faux shearling biker jacket
This faux shearling jacket will keep you warm and look effortlessly cool. It’s just the right amount of oversize and can be worn over jeans or a maxi dress.
Small bag with accordion flap
Do you know whose love was Proenza Schouler? Kendall Jenner. Do you know who else was? Me. This black and white shoulder bag is the ideal size for everyday wear and is elegant enough to pair with formal looks for a night out.
I’ve been dying for a pair of casual boots and this suede style from Paris Texas is absolutely perfect… and a bit out of my price range. However, with the ShopBop sale, they’re 25 percent off, bringing the classic style to a more reasonable price range for an investment. Slouchy boots are my favorite fall trend and I can just pull the trigger on these.
With this light knitted dress you are well dressed in the office and at happy hour. It would pair perfectly with loafers or tall boots (maybe even the casual pair mentioned above).
Loafers were huge last fall and the good news is they’re not going anywhere! You probably already have a black pair, so may I suggest going for this gorgeous maroon version by Sam Edelman?
Del Gato corset top
I love the straps on this olive green corset top. Wear it with pants or baggy jeans at all your fall parties.
Seersucker check maxi dress
This plaid Ganni dress is another wonderful layering piece. You can wear it solo (and show off the open back) until the temperatures drop. Then wear it under an oversized sweater or over a fitted long-sleeved shirt.
Hit The Slopes jacket
If your fall plans include a hike, apple picking, or just morning walks for a Pumpkin Spice Latte, you need a fleece to get them through. You’re guaranteed to stand out in this pink button-up from FP Movement.
