Polaroid, you know, Polaroid, the camera company that can print your pictures anywhere, instantly – and beyond. Well, the brand decided to move to the beat and groove with a new line of products in an entirely different creative realm: music.
With Polaroid’s new sound-based launch, they’re launching a range of speakers of various sizes and price points, all with that playful Polaroid flair. Strikingly equipped with the signature Polaroid primaries, these speakers fit right in with the cameras’ line-up of vibrant yellows, reds and blues.
The Polaroid players are available in four designs, all with multiple color variants including a large and powerful P4 music player in shades of yellow or black, a boombox-style P3 music player in five colors or the thinnest and smallest P2 music player, the offers a powerful sound. Not forgetting the adorable little cube that’s perfect for on the go with the P1 Music Player.
The speakers all feature a set of handles and straps for easy portability, while maintaining the immovable stance that Polaroid has endured for so long. The speakers also feature an extremely fun LED screen that dances around and provides information. The speaker can tune directly to radio stations and even has a heart button to like any song you like without pulling out your phone. You can even pair them together for a multi-room exposure with a simple and very cute tap. These speakers are without a doubt some of the easiest and most exciting speakers I’ve played with. Oh, and of course they sound great too.
In classic Polaroid tradition, they’re going old school with this speaker introduction and didn’t just stop at the product itself. The brand also curated full radio stations aimed at helping with music discovery for those days when your playlist just doesn’t hit the ground running. Polaroid Radio has five stations ranging from pop to hip-hop and anything else you want, all curated by some of the world’s top DJs. Polaroid has always been about instant gratification, so strange as the top line may be, this move makes a lot of sense when we think about it.
Best of all, Polaroid Radio is free whether you have a speaker or not. You can download the Polaroid Radio app, listen and like songs to add them to these playlists. The brand is constantly finding new ways to creatively branch out into the home and tech space, and I couldn’t be more excited. Polaroid cell phone 2023? We will see.
