Parrott Wins in Historic Fashion, Cardinals Claim Fifth


Yorktown, Ind. – Kiah Parrott played a phenomenal three rounds on her way to tournament victory at the Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic at The Players Club in Woodland Trails. Parrott broke the BSU’s 36-hole score yesterday and then broke the 54-hole record by seven shots.

Parrott became the first golfer to win a singles title since Sydney Anderson in 2017. She got her first tournament victory in her first appearance at a home tournament. She recorded a 72 (E) for the last round with two birdies that day. She led the field with 14 birdies for the tournament. Her three-round mark of 207 (-9) set a new Ball State record for a 54-hole score that she beat by seven shots.

“I’m really proud of Kiah,” said head coach cameron andry. “She’s a fierce competitor with a tireless work ethic, so it’s great to see her work paying off. I had a great time going that last loop with her as she put the finishing touches on a dominant win.”

Sarah Gallagher posted a career-best score of 71 (-1) in the final round, bringing her nine spots on the leaderboard to sixth for a personal best. She compiled 12 birdies over the two days, earning the third most birdies of the tournament. She ended up with a three-round record of 219 (+3).

“I thought our younger players showed some progress this week, so we can build on that,” said coach Andry.

Paige Hillman, who competed as a solo rider, finished tied for 43rd with a 232 (+16). She collected four birdies for the tournament. She achieved a score of 80 (+8) in the final round.

With two birdies that day Jasmine Driscoll scored a score of 78 (+6). She improved one spot in the standings to 47th with a three-lap mark of 233 (+17). She counted eight birdies for the tournament.

Peyton Broce posted a finals record of 79 (+7) with two birdies that day. She finished the tournament in 55th place with a score of 235 (+19) and seven birdies. Madelin Boyd finished the tournament on a shared 58th place. Payton Bennett Tie for the 68th

Ball State is taking a week off before heading to Indianapolis on Monday for the Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Golf and Country Club.
