New York and London may be in the rearview mirror, but there’s still work to be done as the Fashion Month agenda heads east to Milan before concluding in Paris in the first week of October. The Italian city’s usual suspects are set to show their latest collections, with Fendi opening Wednesday afternoon shows, making way for Versace, Jil Sander, Bottega Veneta, Ermanno Scervino and more after that. Of course, street style at Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2023 is often as alluring as the shows themselves, so you’re sure to see plenty of guests pushing the limits with their looks.
So far, bomber dresses, metallic sets and denim boot pants have provided major outfit inspiration, striking a balance between the minimalist and bold. Then there were hints of classic Milanese style, with some street stylers reaching for gold-embellished outerwear and rich, neutral color palettes. Overall, however, the city’s fashion-forward residents and visitors seemed to favor looks that span a wide span of years – from the ’90s to the mid-’80s (the blue tights and Mary Janes are so Blair Waldorf).

day 1
There is perhaps nothing more chic than a sophisticated layered look. Here, a guest wore a bomber jacket-style dress over a hoodie and patterned stockings. She wore slingbacks, dark sunglasses and a Diesel handbag as accessories.
A plaid blazer is classic. For the freshest look, this show-goer wore hers with trendy cargo pants and pointy heels.
Shiny pieces can be styled subtly as shown here. Rock your shiny sweater with a matte shawl-like skirt in the same shade for a sleek, cool-girl look.
Dress up a preppy look by wearing socks with chunky clogs on your feet.
Metallics are so hot this season if you haven’t already guessed. (For more proof just read the Fashion World’s Fair.)
This guest let her accessories lure with their fun colors on an otherwise neutral look.
Instead of jumping into the popular monochromatic trend, one show-goer color-coordinated her patterned separates and strappy sandals, breaking sync only with a light blue handbag.
The Canadian tuxedo can be what you make it. In this case, it’s a complete look made up of different denim pieces.
Wearing tights is an easy way to get the most out of your summer dresses. They can also bring out a look.
Rich neutrals, on the other hand, are so classic Milan. This street styler added thoughtful pops of color by coordinating her blue-tinted sunglasses with her multicolored headscarf.
