Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center Recognized by Vizient as 2022 Birnbaum Quality Leadership Top Performer


Newswise – Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center (TMC) has received national recognition as a Top Performer for excellence in providing quality care from Vicient, Inc.

Memorial Hermann-TMC received the 2022 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Ranking from Vicient, Inc. and was ranked ninth out of 107 Vicient members for Comprehensive Academic Medical Centers. The hospital has been recognized for excellence in providing quality care based on the Vicient Quality and Accountability Study, which has been conducted annually since 2005.

This year, 650 participating hospitals were divided into four cohorts for the Vicient Quality and Accountability Ranking. The ranking measures performance in relation to the quality of patient care in six areas: safety, mortality, efficacy, efficiency, patient focus and equity. The ranking incorporates measures from the Vicient Clinical Data Base and includes performance data from the HCAHPS survey and the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network.

The Vicient Quality and Accountability Ranking helps participating hospitals and healthcare systems understand their performance relative to their peers and identify structures and processes associated with high quality and safety across a broad spectrum of patient care activities. The recognition period applies to work from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
