Riley Keough and her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, have welcomed a daughter, the actress’ rep confirmed to Page Six.
Smith-Petersen made the shocking revelation while reading a letter from his wife at Lisa Marie Presley’s memorial service at Graceland on Sunday.
“Thank you for showing me love is the only thing that matters in this life. “I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and sisters,” a letter from Keough to his late mother read in part.
“Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my compassion, my courage, my humor, my character, my anger, my aggression, my persistence. I am the product of your heart, my sisters are the product of your heart, my brother is the fruit of your heart.”
Smith-Petersen, who married Keough in 2015, did not elaborate on when their daughter was born, or reveal her name.
The little one was the grandson of Lisa Marie, who died tragically last week at the age of 54.
The rock ‘n’ roll heiress – the only child of the late Elvis Presley and his wife, Priscilla Presley – died on Jan. 12 after a heart attack.
In addition to Riley, Lisa Marie was the mother of twin daughters, Finley and Harper Lockwood, 14, and son Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in July 2020. She was 27 years old.
Riley, who was to speak at the memorial, sat in the front while her husband read the touching letter to her.
“I remember you bathing me as a baby, putting me in my car seat and listening to Aretha Franklin … bringing me ice cream after school in Florida,” she recalled.
“I remember you singing me and my brother songs at night, and how you used to sleep with us until we fell asleep.”
The message continued, “I remember how loved I felt by the most loving mother I have ever known. How safe it felt to be in your arms: I remember that feeling as a child and I remember it two weeks ago in your bed.”
Riley first opened up about her mother’s death in an Instagram post last week.
The “Daisy Jones & The Six” star shared a throwback photo of herself holding flowers while looking at her mom. He wrote the text with a red heart emoji.
Among the hundreds of mourners at a public service in Memphis on Sunday were late friend Sarah Ferguson, as well as singers Alanis Morissette and Axl Rose.
