Keke Palmer Kicks Off New UGG Social Media Campaign


For Keke Palmer, fall fashion is all about a good pair of UGG boots.


The Southern California footwear brand welcomed the change of seasons with their #UGGSEASON campaign and capitalized on the nope Actress to launch her latest social media initiative which launched on Thursday September 22nd (the first day of fall).


“Oh man, UGG is very reflective of my personal style – I think it reflects everyone’s personal style because it’s universal,” Palmer tells PEOPLE exclusively of the collaboration with the brand.

Featuring an Instagram and TikTok video starring Palmer, the digital-first campaign encourages the brand’s ambassadors, influencers and fans to share how they wear UGG style.



“They’re just the perfect shoe for me,” adds Palmer, which explains why she’s owned over 50 pairs of UGGs over the years. “I think they exemplify luxury and leisure.”

For Palmer, her relationship with UGG began when she was a teenager.


“My first pair of UGG boots was probably when I was about 15 or 16 and I was obviously wearing the heeled boots and I just loved them,” she recalls, referring to the classic UGG silhouette. “I just remember wearing them until they got hit.”

Palmer’s current favorite pair are the Classic Ultra Mini platform boots, which she recently wore to New York Fashion Week.


She also rocks them in her daily looks. “I just got a trailer, so I definitely picture myself in my trailer in my UGG boots — maybe I’ll get into some tailgate scenarios and just swing out,” she says. “I think that’s probably the step.”

When it comes to her personal style, the password The hostess says her only rule is to have fun.


“I’m more focused on putting my personality in what I wear, feeling comfortable and being free to express myself in my own way,” she shares of her open-minded approach to clothing.


This form of self-expression extends to her hairstyling, whether she’s working waist-length braids on the red carpet or rocking her natural curls on screen.


“I think when it comes to my ‘fro,’ that was an even bigger experience in terms of my hair journey,” she tells PEOPLE about her look nope “I just felt like it felt very representative of me and so many people, but at the same time original in its own way. I just love the different forms of expression that I get to show.”


She continues, “I feel the same way about my braids Jump in I could wear my braids on screen, so boxing them on the carpet is just as good.”

For Palmer, confidence also means taking it back and embracing her natural beauty.


“When I’m not wearing anything, when I’m just by myself,” she says of the moments when she feels most beautiful. “I love hair and makeup and clothes, but I also make a lot of effort not to wear stuff because it just makes me feel more accepted in myself.”

The Primetime Emmy winner has had many accomplishments this year, including her 29th birthday. If there’s one thing she’s learned since her twenties, it’s “always do things my way and not be afraid to go my own way.”


It’s a reflection of what she hopes others will have as well.


“Don’t be afraid to stand out, be different and say what you want,” she says. “There might be resistance to that, and maybe sometimes you’re willing to hear it, and the times you’re not are okay, too.”
