That poker master is underway and there are two notable regulars who have been absent so far – accused poker cheats Jake Schindler and Ali Imsirovic. Don’t expect any progress during the High Roller Series or any other PokerGO events for the rest of the year as these are excluded from competition.
Poker fans may also have noticed that Schindler and Imsirovic no longer appear on the PokerGO Tour Ranking, and that was no coincidence. You are no longer eligible to win. PokerGO released a brief statement on Thursday addressing the situation.
“The PokerGO Tour (PGT) today announced the indefinite suspension of Ali Imsirovic and Jake Schindler from tour play, effective immediately. The suspension will last at least until the 2022 PGT season, after which a review will take place,” the statement said.
Daniel Negreanu, who competes in the Poker Masters, teased the ban on Twitter before the series began. What he hinted at has now been confirmed.

Imsirovic and Schindler were both charged several top professionals Colluding in live poker tournaments and using online real-time assistance (RTA) tools to gain an unfair advantage. None of the players have publicly confirmed or denied the allegations. After Schindler’s WSOP Bracelet Win Last summer, he declined to answer media questions.
The duo is considered one of the best tournament players in the world. Prior to the cheating allegations, Negreanu even called Schindler the best tournament breaker in the game. According to the Hendon Mob, they have combined over $53 million in live tournament earnings.
Last year Imsirovic won 14 high roller tournaments and ran away with both GPI and PokerGO Tour Player of the Year awards.
According to PokerGO, the ban will last until the end of the year, but it’s unclear if it will be extended to 2023 and beyond. The Poker Masters started on Wednesday with Event #1: $10,000 No Limit Hold’em, which had 81 entrants and played through to the final table before the end of the session. Promotion resumed Thursday at 1:00pm PT to select a winner. Negreanu fired three bullets and destroyed them all to begin his quest for revenge for a disappointment World Series of Poker 2022.
Also on Thursday Event #2: $10,000 No Limit Hold’em started and had 45 participants at the time of publication, with registration still open.
Since Schindler and Imsirovic are no longer in the running, Stephen Chidwick currently leads the PokerGO Tour 2022 rankings with 2,975 points. Phil Ivey is in second place, just one point behind the top. The Poker Masters series is likely to shake the leaderboard.
