With the start of a new semester and the days getting colder and shorter, styles at Manhattan College shift to embrace that change. Whether it’s baggy pants for the chemistry lab or oversized sweaters to go thrift in NoHo, Eliz Ohanian, Savannah Connelly and Nathan Noble share what they’re looking forward to this season.
Eliz Ohanian ’26, Major in Mechanical Engineering

What new fall trends do you like?
“I’m a big fan of skirt, tights and sweater combinations. I like it when people wear long dresses with sneakers, I think that’s cool.”
Do you have fall clothing essentials?
“Yes, I have my grandpa’s sweater, I have a few that I brought with me. They have these massive sleeves, they probably go past my hands, I love them. Probably painter’s trousers as well.”
What is your favorite way to dress for class?
“I think it depends on the class because in the chemistry lab we have to wear trousers. It also depends on what time it is, but I like to wear big sweaters to class. I went to private school in a uniform for four years, so I was like, ‘I don’t know how to dress anymore, what am I supposed to do here?’ I just wear what is comfortable.”
Who or what is your style inspiration?
“Probably Enya Umanzor, she’s so cool. And Coy, her name is @myspacemama on TikTok, they have such cool outfits. I guess you could call it grunge or Y2K, it’s something like what Enya does with all the layered necklaces, it’s really sick.
Savannah Connelly ’26, major in Mechanical Engineering
What’s your favorite fall trend?
“I like it when people wear sweaters or crew-neck sweatshirts with a polo underneath. I like summer dresses and when people put a top underneath and then tuck a sweater underneath so it kind of looks like a skirt.”
What are your favorite seasonal transitional pieces as the weather turns cooler?
“I like to combine tank tops with cardigans. I’m a cardigan girl through and through.”
Who or what is your style inspiration?
“I was just looking for her, Lex Hidalgo. I love their Converse collection on TikTok. I always think her outfits are so cool.”
Where is your favorite place to shop for fall?
“I was just at Plato’s Closet, I’m from New Jersey too so they’re literally everywhere. I also like American Eagle and Aerie, sometimes Hollister. I like shopping at thrift stores, they are fun.”
Nathan Noble ’26, finance major

Where are your favorite places in town to shop for fall pieces?
“I would honestly say that vintage shops or thrift stores are the best places in my opinion. There is a chain called MyUnique that is really good. It’s a pretty good bang for your buck. And then there are other places like Metropolis Vintage or 2nd Street.”
Who or what is your style inspiration?
“I would say my style inspiration comes mostly from skateboard culture. It’s probably just my taste in music reflected in my fashion, I’d say.”
What do you think is the most important part of creating an outfit?
“Proportions are the most important thing in my opinion. I think if you get the proportions that work for your body type, you can really wear any outfit.”
