Fall on the Lawn at Destin Library takes place on October 21 from 6pm to 8pm
Play lawn games or participate in a fall craft while enjoying a caramel apple and a cup of cider. There will be face painting, stilt walkers from Luminary Entertainment Company and the folks from Little Adventures will be on hand with their mobile unit to talk about the many fun classes and activities they have to offer.
As a member of the Okaloosa County Public Library Cooperative, we are also celebrating the cooperative’s 25th year of service to the community and will be distributing special anniversary bags. This event is free for everyone and no registration is required. So bring the whole family to Fall on the Lawn.

Fall Festival at the Destin Community Center
The City of Destin is hosting a Fall Festival on October 24 from 5-8 p.m. at the Destin Community Center at 101 Stahlman Avenue. Carnival games, bouncy castle, cake walk, and a spooky cafe are available for visitors, and tickets are sold for food and games. Children from 0 to 12 years old can take part in a costume contest, which starts at 18:00. Registration for the competition takes place from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m
The annual Fall Festival Jack-O-Lantern competition also takes place during the event. Judging will take place on October 24th and all carved pumpkins must arrive at the community center no later than 3:00pm. City officials are asking for the donation of a non-perishable food item for entry into Harvest House. For more information, call the community center at 654-5184.
The Halloween walk takes place on October 26th
Gather your littlest ghouls and ghosts for the annual Destin Library Halloween Walk on Wednesday, October 26 at 10 a.m. Trick-or-treat stations will be set up on the front yard, where library staff and volunteers will distribute crafts, snacks, candy, and toys.
In the event of rain, please check the library’s Facebook page or website for updates. This event is for children aged five and under and is free to attend, but registration is recommended to ensure there are enough treats for everyone.

National Community Survey for Destin Residents
The City of Destin, in partnership with POLCO/National Research Center, today launched a community survey for Destin residents. The survey runs until October 28th. Residents are selected at random and must be 18 years of age to participate. All replies are confidential and no identifying information will be shared. The selected individuals will receive invitation postcards in the mail with a link to take part in the online survey, or they can choose to take part in a printed survey.
The city will also conduct an open poll that will be open to all residents on October 14. Links to the survey will be available on the City’s website, www.cityofdestin.com, and on the City’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook. com/cityofdestin, back then.
The results of the surveys will be available and made available to the public by the end of November.
Volunteers wanted for the Festival of Arts
The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation is recruiting for the 27th Annual Festival of the Arts, being held October 29-30 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village in Destin.
Various shifts are available including Friday 28th October Setup, Main Entrance, Artist Relief, Children’s Tent and Concession Stands, as well as Dismantling and more. All volunteers are welcome to arrive before their assigned shift or after their morning shift to visit the artists and enjoy the festival.

Barktoberfest is on October 27th
The 7th Annual Barktoberfest, a canine trick-or-treating event presented by Dog-Harmony at Grand Park on Grand Boulevard in Sandestin, is for Thursday, October 27 from 4:30-6:30 p.m scheduled
A donation of $15 per dog offers each entrant a chance to win outrageous prizes for the best Halloween costumes for pets and parents, as well as professional photography sponsored by Mills Photo Design.
Judging for the best matching Halloween costumes will take place during the event, with the winning spooky duos being announced at 6:15pm

Big boulevard farmers market
The Grand Boulevard Farmers Market is held every Friday and Saturday from 9am to 1pm in Grand Park in the heart of Grand Boulevard in South Walton. Bring your shopping bag and stock up on local produce, eggs, jams and cakes. Homemade soap, good olive oil and pickles are available to take away.
Rosemary Beach Farmers Market
Browse Sundays from 9am to 1pm at the 30A Farmers Market in Rosemary Beach. The local farmer’s market is held on Sundays year-round and Thursdays during the summer months at North Barrett Square along Scenic 30A.
Adopt a street
The City of Destin’s Adopt-A-Street program enables local families, businesses, and community groups to provide a valuable service to the community by adopting sections of street to keep it clean of trash and debris. Groups participating in this program will be listed by name on the community website and signage will be posted on the street of their choice.
