Explore the main wine-growing regions, learn how to taste like a pro, and get tips and tricks on buying wine at a restaurant or shop. The lesson is on Saturday, 09/24 and tickets are $85.

With Oktoberfest celebrations in full swing, rooftop bar Hello Lawn on the Union market (1309 Fifth St., NE) hosts its annual Lawnoberfest party on Saturday 24.09. It will feature live music, grilled sausages, local beers and homemade pretzels.

A dinner together at the Brookland wine bar Primrose (3000 12th St., NO) offers a five-course menu by New Orleans chef Byron Bradley with pairings by sommelier Erica Christian Monday, 09/26. The menu includes a variety of creative interpretations of Creole cuisine, and there is an option for non-alcoholic pairings. Dinner starts at 6pm and tickets are $200.

Pre-order ice flights at Ice Cream Jubilee (301 Water Street, SE; 1407 T St., NW; 428 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington) and help raise funds for La Clínica del Pueblo, a nonprofit health clinic serving the DC area. For $16, get five flavored mini scoops inspired by Hispanic Heritage Month and a pint to go, plus a donation to a good cause. The shop will also raise money to help with hurricane relief for Puerto Rico. The flights are through at the weekend Friday 09/30.

Visit Mexican restaurants Urbano (116 King Street, Alexandria; 2985 District Avenue, Fairfax) for a $45 three-course meal served throughout Hispanic Heritage Month. Options include ceviche, street corn salad, carne asada, churros, and tres leches cake. The promotion ends on Saturday October 15th.
